Crowd At Lunga Art Festival

Lunga is a yearly art festival for young adults held in Seyðisfjörður in July. The festival runs for weeks time with workshops, art shows, and concerts. This year the Lunga organization established the first Icelandic "folk high school" focusing on art and creativity.

GO FISHING WITH LOCAL FISHERMEN

A fine catch!

A local seaman has been offering fishing tours for a few years now, in collaboration with Hotel Aldan. He will take you out to the fjord on his small fishing boat - and guarantees you a nice catch! If interested, this fish is fillet for you to cook - or us to prepare and serve for you dinner.

GO KAYAKING

VISIT THE TECHNICAL MUSEUM

Various gadgets on display

Seyðisfjörður is home to the unique "Technical Museum of Iceland". The museum focuses on mechanical and other technical items from the year 1880 to 1950. This includes electricity, communications, telephony, commerce, architecture and medicine. For many visitors the gadgets on display are exotic and fascinating - while others experience a warm nostalgia for simpler times.

Skaftfell is one-in-all Bistro, Art Gallery, Residency and a Library. There you can find an library and selected works of the world renowed Ditier Roth, an exhibition of temporary art - and delicious food and beverages. Entrance if free of charge.

The House on Austurvegur

Skálanes is at the end of the fjord. An renovated farm offering food, accommodation, guided nature tours, animals to pet and interesting stories to hear. To get there one will have to take an easy 30 minute hike in the beautiful surroundings of Seyðisfjörður.
