Bankinn - Hotel by Aldan
At the turn of last century, it became obvious that more accommodation was needed in Seyðisfjörður to welcome the increasing number of tourists visiting the town.
Originally the house was built as one of Iceland’s most luxurious hotels and restaurant in 1898 and decades later, it housed the national Sailors-bank and Landsbankinn, for almost a century. When renovated in 2002, we put efforts in preserving the historical atmosphere while adding modern convenience. In 1898 the hotel had 18 rooms and a big dining room and dancehall.
Since the building was restored to its original role, we now offer one single, six double rooms, one triple and one quadruple room. In most of the rooms there is space for an extra bed and furthermore, it is possible to arrange accommodation for a family of six persons in one of our rooms.
Room facilities: heating, shower, hairdryer, toilet, bathroom, towels, linen, upper floors accessible by stairs only.
